Your privacy matters to us. We only collect information about you if we have a reason to -- to make your part, to know which plan you're on, or to run partl. Below is what that means in practice.
partl is a product of Markit LLC. This policy covers the partl iOS app and the partl service, and nothing else.

There is no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier, no third-party tracker, and no location data. Sign in with Apple is optional; the free tier works without an account.
We use the information above to: provide the service (analyse your upload, generate and verify a model, apply your monthly allowance); keep partl working and secure (debugging, fraud and abuse prevention); and communicate with you about your account, a support request, or a required legal notice. We do not use it to build a profile of you, to target ads, or for anything beyond running partl.
Your images and notes are sent to Google Cloud, where the service runs, and to a large language model hosted on Google Cloud Vertex AI, which performs the analysis and writes the model. Google acts as a processor and does not use this content to train its models.
Apple handles payment and tells us only whether a subscription is active. We never see your payment details.
We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or if we believe in good faith that it's necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Markit LLC, our users, or the public. Outside of that and the processors named above, nothing is sold and nothing is shared with anyone else.
We do not use your sketches or your parts to train models. If that ever changes, this page will say so before it happens and you will be asked first.
We generally discard information about you once it's no longer needed for the purposes above, and once we're not legally required to keep it -- see the table for specific retention periods. Records Apple requires us to keep about a purchase are kept as long as required, and no longer.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect what you send us. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Ask us and we will send you what we hold or delete it. Deleting the app does not delete your account; email the address below to do that. Deleting your account removes your parts, your identifiers, and your usage history.
We do not sell or share your personal information, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what categories of personal information we hold, request its correction or deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising those rights -- reach us the same way, at the address below.
partl is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We may change this policy from time to time, for legal, regulatory, or product reasons. If we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above, and if the change is material we'll announce it in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use partl after that means accepting the updated policy.
